Milky Way Picture Books’ logo is freely inspired by the horse from the children’s book Charlotte and the White Horse (1955), written by Ruth Krauss and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. These two major children’s literature creators are a great source of inspiration for our house’s founder, who has chosen to pay tribute to them by making reference to the horse, named Milky Way.

In this reinterpretation of the character, created by Italian artist Chiara Baglioni, the child becomes a horse in order to give free rein to their imagination. In the same way, Milky Way Picture Books wants to stimulate young readers’ imaginations by offering them strong, assertive, and inspiring illustrated books of the highest quality.
